Mr. Richie Maitland LLB (Hons), MHR
Richie Maitland holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (with Honors) from the University of the West Indies, a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School and a Masters Degree in Human Rights Law from the Queen Mary University of London (with Merit), which he earned while studying as a 2015-16 Chevening Scholar.
While at the Hugh Wooding Law School, he was the lead advocate on the 3 person team which won the Hammel-Smith Mooting Competition in 2013 and part of the Law School’s debating team.
Richie has appeared on matters before the UN Human Rights Council, the Inter-American Human Rights Commission, and has worked for prestigious international human rights organisations like the London based Human Dignity Trust.
He is called to the bar both in Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada and has experience in a wide range of legal matters.
